Nikula Legal Terms and Conditions:  

 

  1. The assignment is carried out in accordance with the instructions given by the client and the law carefully and taking into account the client's best interests as quickly as possible within a reasonable time. Nikula complies with the Code of Ethics for Lawyers in its operations.

  2. Nikula discusses the management of the assignment with the client, advises and guides when necessary, and keeps the client up to date on the progress of the assignment.

  3. The assignment received by Nikula Legal is handled by Master of Laws Anne Nikula or, if agreed with the client, by another lawyer with the client's consent.

  4. The client is responsible for providing and delivering all information and documents necessary for the performance of the assignment to a lawyer.

  5. The customer is responsible for paying Nikula Legal's fee and expense invoice.

  6. Depending on the nature of the assignment, a fee of EUR 300–400 per hour and possible VAT of 25.5% are charged (see price list). The minimum charge time is 15 minutes.

  7. The remuneration is increased by the performance of the task as a matter of particular urgency, the exceptionally difficult nature of the task and the special expertise it requires.

  8. The client is obliged to pay all measures and expenses that have been necessary for the performance of the assignment or that have been carried out at the customer's express request.

  9. 50% of the fee will also be charged for any travel related to the assignment according to the hourly rate, unless another basis for charging has been agreed.

  10. The client is obliged to pay the direct costs related to the commission: eg. official fees, travel expenses, higher than usual copying costs.

  11. The client may be required to pay an advance payment of fees and expenses as a condition for receiving the commission. Any advance payment will be specified in connection with the final invoice.

  12. Expert opinions and evaluation books, etc. required in connection with the assignment. is ordered on behalf of the customer and the invoice is addressed to the customer directly.

  13. If the customer has an insurance policy that covers part of the lawyer's fees and expenses, the customer is obliged to pay a part that is not covered by the insurance company.

  14. If the court rejects the claim for legal costs against the opposing party, this does not affect the customer's payment obligation.

  15. The assignment relationship ends when the assignment has been completed without separate termination. The client has the right to notify the termination of the assignment at any time without giving a reason. Nikula Legal may terminate the agreement in accordance with the Code of Conduct for Legal Counsel.

  16. Disputes related to the assignment relationship shall be handled in the District Court of Helsinki in accordance with Finnish law.

  17. The Customer has the right to submit any dispute concerning the fee to the Supervisory Board operating in connection with the Ministry of Justice.

  18. The client has the right to complain about the lawyer's conduct to the Supervisory Board.

  19. A private person has the right to submit a dispute concerning the fee to the Consumer Disputes Board.
